Minutes of monthly meeting held 14th September 2010

Held at Mel's House, Haumoana - meeting opened at 7.38pm
Present: Andy Heyward, Ian Chapman, Melanie Fowler, Wendy Van Hooijdonk, Rod Heaps

Incoming Correspondence: Nil

Matters Arising:
Rod was surprised to see a mural appear on the toilets at the park and queried whether we had been consulted. Mel replied "Yes, we were consulted". It is also noted that there is significantly less graffitti around at the present.

General Business:
AGM: The date for the AGM has been set as the 9th of November, 7.30pm at the Pavillion, Haumoana Memorial Park. Mel will arrange to advertise it in the Hastings Mail a week before. Andy will put it on the website.
First Aid Kit: It has been suggested we have our own first aid kit to take to the various events we run as a group. Wendy reported on the various kits available. Wendy reccommended we purchase the kit costing $41.58. We voted unanimously to purchase the kit from our general funds and to have Wendy be in charge of keeping the kit up to date and restocking when necessary. We wrote a cheque fro Fay to purchase it at a discounted rate through NZ Safety.
Lemon Day: Lemon day planning is taken care of with the crew meeting the day before at Andy's to carve the lemons and sort out the last minute details.
Signage: Rod reported that the council have put in a resource consent application for the signage at the entrance to Haumoana. Waiting on approval. Any community sign will be allowed, business signs are not allowed. Keith Newman will police the sign in the interim until a permanent solution is decided.
