New Zealand, gem quality, Totoweka (weka's Blood) Jade. Three plait polyster cord with black hand made serpentine bead. New Zealand pounamu is becoming quite rare on the market these days, but even before this Totoweka was one of the rare ones. This piece is a particularly fine example of Totoweka, beautifully figured from pale green to red and black streaks. The red is what gives this jade its name.
